WITH 43 years worth of knowledge and experience of the removalist business between them, friends Lucia Hamilton and Helen Curran bought into their Allied Pickford franchise three years ago.
They staked their claim in what is traditionally a male- dominated business and obtained their forklift licences. Lucia then took her training one step further and gained her HR licence.
“Something she now holds with great pride and shows off to anyone that will listen,” said Helen.
Lucia and Helen are thrilled to be part of a leading furniture company in Australia that boasts more than 40 depots Australia-wide and more than 1000 in strategic overseas locations.
“Our company offers relocation services anywhere and everywhere whether it’s local, national or international, plus we have all ancillary services including top storage facilities with government regulated pest control and security,” said Lucia.
Their main focus is within the Gladstone/Capricornia area.
“We’re very keen to enhance our business structure with local or outside companies that are working in our ever-expanding city,” said Helen.
The women embrace a ‘hands-on management’ approach so when needed they can be found packing homes, loading furniture, driving trucks or even loading containers.
“When times get tough, the tough get going,” laughed Lucia.
